With the global trend towards increased online spending, the government (in Ireland) recognised the need to support small to medium size businesses to get online and so they introduced a scheme known as the 'Trading Online Voucher Scheme'.

Eligible businesses can apply for a voucher to invest in developing their e-commerce capability, of up to €2,500 matched by own funding to develop a trading online component to their business. The scheme is administered on behalf of this Department by the Local Enterprise Office network.
