The DkITimes is the internal blog for Dundalk Institute of Technology staff and students and I was tasked with redesigning the entire blog to make it more useful, engaging and visually appealing.
For the design of the DkITimes I wanted to create something fresh and visually interesting that appealed to all our key stakeholder — students, staff and external audiences. While still sticking to our brand colours, I decided to use a mix of our secondary colours to achieve a retro look that was noticeably different to the main DkIT news channel and which could be uniquely identified as the DkITimes. I added some sweeping lines and text overlay on images to give the DkITimes a bold new look.
I worked with the digital agency MOR for the web development phase and to integrate it into the existing website structures on the DkIT website. This blog was under slow release in late 2019 and will be publicised to the wider DkIT community into 2020.
Mailchimp Audience List - this allowed us to capture user email addresses so we could issue a weekly email to our audience.
Mailchimp Weekly Email Newsletter - we created a weekly email that was issued automatically to our email subscribers.
Added to our main website structure - this gave us the ability to publish stories across both the main DkIT news channel and the DkITimes Blog.
